Definition of the High Voltage Switchgear

High voltage switchgear is an electrical product that can control power conversion and protect power generation, power distribution and power transmission.

It has a voltage rating of 3.6-550KV.

The high voltage switchgear cabinet contains high-voltage circuit breaker, high-voltage isolation switch, high-voltage explosion-proof power distribution device, high-voltage operating mechanism, high-voltage automatic overlap and segment device, grounding switch, high-voltage load switch.

 

Overview of the High Voltage Switchgear


The main function of the high voltage switchgear is to cut off the circuit. The manufacturer shall assemble various circuit equipment in the metal cabinet according to the drawings.

Circuit equipment is mostly control appliances, protection appliances, measuring appliances, bus, load conductor and insulators. Metal cabinets are open and enclosed.

 
Service Conditions of the High Voltage Switchgear


⬤ High voltage switchgear shall not be operated where the ambient temperature is too high.

 

⬤ Higher temperature can lead to reduced conductivity and increased resistance, which seriously affects the use of the high-voltage switchgear.

 

⬤ Secondly, too high temperature will lead to shortened life of insulation materials, reduced insulation strength, too low temperature will lead to insulation damage.

 

⬤ The altitude of high voltage switchgear is generally not more than 1000 meters

 

⬤ Environmental humidity: not more than 90%

 

⬤ Earthquake intensity: It can only be installed in areas of less than 8 degrees

 

⬤ Other conditions: installed in a safe place where there is no fire and explosion, chemical corrosion and violent vibration.

High Voltage Switchgear appears in various places of our lives.
